Agritourism Strategy for Lillooet, St’at’imc First Nations and Electoral Area B of the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District
EcoTactix/PureFood BC is currently developing a comprehensive Agritourism Strategy for the Lillooet Agriculture and Food Society to promote the regional market to visitors, promote existing agritourism businesses, support the sustainable growth of new agritourism ventures and develop greater market access for regional agritourism products and services. This project required extensive market research in regional and provincial agriculture and agrifood trends and forecasts.
Foreign Direct Investment Strategy for Quesnel, British Columbia
On behalf of its client, the Quesnel Community Economic Development Corporation (QCEDC) EcoTactix/PureFood BC completed market research and analysis of the City’s sector strengths based on traditional assets and evolving market and industry conditions. It identified high opportunity sectors and developed a strategy for attracting investment from the US and specific European countries. Agriculture and agrifood sub-sectors were included in this strategy and investment attraction sector profiles were developed to promote Quesnel to companies and investors in the priority markets. These included:
- Agrifood Processing Opportunities in Quesnel for US, European Union and Asian firms and foreign direct investors;
- Crop Production Opportunities in Quesnel for US, European Union and Asian firms and foreign direct investors;
- Greenhouse Opportunities in Quesnel for US and Dutch firms and foreign direct investors.
Agriculture and Agrifood Sectors Analysis of Alberta, Canada, United States, European Union and China
This multi-sector, multi-market research and analysis project was conducted for the Olds Institute for Community and Regional Development (OICRD) in Olds, Alberta. It was a significant component of a larger “High Opportunity Sector Identification for Foreign Direct Investment” project. EcoTactix/PureFood BC analyzed the domestic market, including provincial and regional strengths, and identified priority target markets and sectors to which Olds could be promoted. These included the US, UK, the Netherlands and China. EcoTactix/PureFood BC also developed strategies and investment profiles for:
- Attracting U.K. agriculture and agrifood companies and investors to Olds;
- Attracting American agriculture and agrifood companies and investors to Olds;
- Attracting Chinese agriculture and agrifood companies and investors to Olds; and
- Attracting Dutch agriculture and agrifood companies and investors to Olds.
Management Consulting and Market Development Services to the Lillooet Agriculture and Food Society
EcoTactix/PureFood BC provided operational and governance advisory services to this new non-profit organization, with an emphasis on increasing the viability of the agricultural sector in the Lillooet region, promoting the “Lillooet Grown” brand and improving provincial market access for local producers.
Marketing and Communications Materials for Lillooet Agriculture and Food Society
EcoTactix/PureFood BC developed a suite of marketing communications materials for this new non-profit organization, including: banners, brochures, flyers, postcards, branding labels, and subscriber-based newsletter service.
Market Analysis of the Specialty Foods Industry in the United States
This market intelligence study was delivered to the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (now Global Affairs Canada) for the purpose of identifying specialty food opportunities for export-ready Canadian firms interested in the US market. The study comprised both an economic and geographic analysis of the US specialty food industry, including specialty food trends, as well as recommendations on market entry in specific sectors and geographic areas. It also identified key domestic and foreign competitors, sector support systems and potential partners in the US for Canadian specialty food exporters.

This market intelligence study was delivered to the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (now Global Affairs Canada) for the purpose of identifying food opportunities for export-ready Canadian firms interested in the Brazilian market. The study comprised both an economic and geographic analysis of Brazil’s food industry, including specialty food trends, as well as recommendations on market entry in specific sectors and geographic areas. It also identified key domestic and foreign competitors, sector support systems and potential partners in Brazil for Canadian food exporters.
Agriculture and Agrifood Business Opportunities in the Baltic States for Canadian Companies
This market intelligence study was delivered to the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (now Global Affairs Canada) for the purpose of identifying agriculture and agrifood sector, sub-sector and segment opportunities for export-ready Canadian firms interested in the markets of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The study comprised both an analysis of the opportunities in each country and recommendations on market entry in specific sectors and geographic areas. It also identified key domestic and foreign competitors, sector support systems and potential partners in the Baltic States for Canadian exporters.

We completed a comprehensive analysis and report of national industry strengths as well as national policies, programs and priorities to support innovation and growth in bio-based products and services industries for CBAC and CBSS.

We delivered multiple studies outlining export opportunities for Canadian firms offering bio-based products and services in multiple markets.
Clayoquot Sound Food Security, Nutrition and Agrifood/Wild Food Production and Harvesting
We designed and delivered research and analysis of opportunities and managed an education and training project for Tofino, Ucluelet and five Nuu-Chah-Nulth First Nations in Clayoquot Sound.
Business Growth through Exporting Seminars
EcoTactix/PureFood BC prepared and delivered to export-readiness seminars in Charlottetown and Summerside, Prince Edward Island on behalf of Prince Edward Island Business Development and Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA). The seminars included sessions on conducting market research in domestic and foreign markets, as well as identifying credible, evidence-based information sources. The bulk of the participants were small business owners in the agriculture and agrifood sectors.
